Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation’s leading manufacturer of water flow control devices for the water industries, has an opening in our Chattanooga, Tennessee manufacturing facility for a Maintenance Reliability Engineer.
The primary function of the person filling this position is to improve both equipment reliability and plant’s OEE to maximize the use of all plant production and service equipment. Utilize analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Determine the cost advantages of alternatives when developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
PM reviews, PM modifications, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), CMMS data mining to investigate equipment trends, failure defense identification and planning, PdM technology implementation, work process improvements, and setup of reliability based metrics while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agency and company requirements. Develop Lubrication Specifications Standards, aligned with and according to accepted Industry Standards.
Work closely with maintenance and/or production personnel to resolve chronic equipment related issues. Lead or participate in Kaizen/TPI events and coordinate activities with plant engineering as required.
Perform equipment evaluations to determine and justify new equipment, equipment replacement (Incorporate into capital plan), or overhaul needs. Develop and maintain contingency plans for catastrophic failure of each major system.
Coaches and mentors the utilization of Reliability Best Practices and teaches others basic principles of reliability engineering. Maintains/Attains expert status in the reliability engineering discipline.
Lead application of reliability methodologies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, equipment criticality analysis, etc. to transform the organization from reactive maintenance to reliability focus
Required Qualifications:
BS Degree in engineering field with specialized training in Reliability Engineering concepts Minimum of 5 years of reliability engineering experience in heavy industrial setting such as foundry operations.
CMRP certification is required or will obtain within 6 months of hire date as condition of employment.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated work success in Lean Manufacturing environment
