BorgSolutions’ Fleet Maintenance Management Platform Astral to be Renamed Borg Fleet
New Flagship Product Branding and Marketing Reflect Increased Versioning Options and Scope of Offerings
AUSTIN, Texas—BorgSolutions, the leading provider of fleet management solutions that reduce operating, labor and other costs for construction, oil & gas, fleet rental and transportation companies, today announced the renaming of the company’s flagship product Astral, a fleet maintenance management software platform, to Borg Fleet.
Borg Fleet, a Web-based software-as-a-service, utilizes a proprietary technology that facilitates predictive maintenance, streamlined work orders, fuel and inventory management, resource allocation, repair scenarios and scheduling through real-time data collection and analytics. Through its patent pending technology, Borg Fleet truly leverages telematics by providing Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to fleet maintenance, which delivers real cost-savings - a first of its kind in fleet management. New editions consist of: Starter, Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited.
“The name change to Borg Fleet reflects the company’s new versioning options and represents more accurately BorgSolutions’ product offering and understanding of the fleet industry’s needs,” said Christophe Borg, President and CEO of BorgSolutions, Inc. “BorgSolutions, through its enhanced, flagship platform Borg Fleet, is uniquely positioned to lead in our growing industry.”
According to a study released May 20, 2009 by C.J. Driscoll & Associates, a market research firm specializing in the GPS and wireless industries, fleet vehicles, trailers, construction equipment and mobile workers account for about 3.6 million GPS and wireless devices used in the U.S. This number is expected to increase to more than 6.5 million units by 2012.
GPS and other telematic devices are components, that when coupled with Borg Fleet’s robust, proprietary software platform, combine to facilitate true fleet maintenance management (FMM) and fleet resource planning (FRP) in the form of predictive maintenance, streamlined work orders, fuel and inventory management, resource allocation and repair scenarios.
Mr. Borg continued, “As both our product and industry grew over the years it became inevitable for us to offer versions to satisfy the needs of each segment of the Fleet industry we serviced. Smaller businesses needed a simple solution to manage a tangible fleet, while larger companies wanted more robust capabilities that were specific to them; thus we created Borg Fleet, a solution to meet the industry’s specific needs in our signature web-based format.”
