Meggitt Sensing Systems hires International Sales Manager
Germantown, MD—Meggitt, the manufacturer of industry-leading accelerometers and vibration sensing products, announced today that it has hired Paul Simpson as the International Sales Manager for Wilcoxon Research products. Mr. Simpson’s 15 years of international technical sales experience and multilingual capabilities will greatly enhance the Meggitt Sensing Systems experience for customers in Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
In his role as International Sales Manager, Mr. Simpson’s primary responsibilities include all aspects of international sales, such as devising and implementing sales strategies and serving as the account manager for strategic international customers, as well as selecting and managing international resellers globally.
“Paul not only speaks several languages, he brings to customers a cultural understanding that can only come from living and working in growing regions such as Latin America and Asia” said Tom Smith, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Wilcoxon Research products. “He has direct experience working with and assisting customers in more than 30 countries.” In addition to English, Mr. Simpson is fluent in Chinese and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.
Mr. Simpson brings a strong knowledge of vibration technology and applications, and experience providing industrial monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions to customers across the globe. Mr. Simpson gained direct experience with vibration sensors and related products during his employment at PCB Piezoelectronics and the IMI Sensors Division as a Regional Manager with international responsibility. In that role from 2001 through 2006, he established and supervised the Beijing office, staff, and sales development activity for three years and earned Spanish-language certification as a Category II Vibration Analyst in Mexico. His practical knowledge of export control
law and international instrumentation safety requirements will also benefit customers.
From 2009 until joining Meggitt Sensing Systems, Mr. Simpson managed PT Simpson LLC, a manufacturer’s representative firm that imported and resold protective packaging materials from Asian principles to American and Canadian customers. There he organized the marketing activities of principals, including trade shows and print material. Mr. Simpson holds a Master of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management; a certificate in International Business Studies from the University of Hawaii - Honolulu; and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations/Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
