Chris Perry, of Shermco Industries, recently conducted an “Off-line and On-line Motor Testing” course for the Oklahoma Predictive Maintenance Users Group.
With a focus on predictive maintenance technologies and procedures, the two-and-a-half day lecture and hands-on course, designed for plant maintenance technicians and electricians, covered basic motor theory and operation, off-line and on-line motor testing, testing analysis and safety during testing.
“Predictive maintenance is all about maximizing up-time by smartly and strategically implementing and utilizing effective, tested and up-to-date equipment evaluation procedures,” said Perry. “Without proper testing and testing analysis, no predictive maintenance program can be completely successful, which ultimately affects equipment reliability and limits maximum up-time.”
OPMUG provides maintenance professionals throughout Oklahoma and the surrounding states a forum to share and gather firsthand knowledge about predictive maintenance. Members of OPMUG include professionals from the utility, manufacturing, refinery, municipality, government, service, educational and predictive maintenance industries.
