Deep Freeze Infrared Thermography
When shooting the interior of a deep freezer for temperature monitoring/calibration we use an X as a target, made from black vinyl electrical tape, this way we shoot the same spot every month.
The emisivity of both the tape and the wall paint is .95 so the tape dissappears in the thermographic image in the view finder.
I touch the wall two inches below the target, for a split second and that is all it takes to leave a beacon (hot spot)to see where the x is on the wall.
This makes it easier and more time efficient when doing rounds.
