Definition: Proactive Maintenance

(Predictive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring Management)

Maintenance Work is completed to avoid failures or to indentify defects that could lead to failure (failure finding).  It includes routine preventive and predictive maintenance activities and work tasks identified from them.

  • I think the definition for Proactive Maintenance should be completed by "the tasks to eliminate the root cause of the failure"
