Oil Analysis Maintenance Tip

When taking oil samples from a specific machine, You must not only take a sample out of the reservoir, gearbox, ext. You must take a sample at every point in the oil system. What I mean is where does the oil come from. First you must make sure the oil is clean when it comes out of the barrel, so take a sample there. You should be filtering the oil when it comes out of the barrel so sample it after the filter. To get the oil to the machine most likely you are putting the oil in some sort of an approved jug, so take a sample out of there also. This will help you eliminate and fix any problems with your system. You might be pouring contaminated or dirty oil into the machine.
