Oil Sampling: The Key to Success is Consistency
Maintaining consistency when conducting oil analysis procedures is key to identification of machine and lubricant problems. Neglecting consistent procedures will require elimination of additional factors that could essentially skew the oil analysis results, ultimately producing an inaccurate account of your lubricant or machinery’s health.
It is of the utmost importance that you have a consistent approach to:
• Sample location
• Sampling receptacle
• Sample extraction procedure
• Sampling frequency
• Sample testing methods
