Time Waveform Analysis Tools
Viewing time waveform data patterns from a sensor, one can identify machinery problems associated with balancing, misalignment, looseness, impacting, synchronous, and/or binding.
Tools such as peak detection, auto-correlation, and crest factor help to decide binding, periodic influences, and impacting.
The circular waveform plot with a number of shaft rotations is a great way to identify looseness. Periodic and repetition vibration is shown in the first plot; non-periodic and looseness is evident in the second plot.
